Making decisions whether to admit students to Drexel's Honors Program is no small task. Being able to make the decisions is such an honor, but also a tough job. Several questions probably come up when trying to decide who to admit. If I were responsible for making the decisions of who to admit a question that I would ask would be why are you passionate about major. This is an important question, because with any job their needs to be passion. If passion is there the person can put forth their best effort because they care about what they are doing. Being motivated and driven to be the best you can be will allow for you to be the best you can be. A persons success stems from not the job a person has, but from how well they do it. In order to do something to my fullest I need to want and love to do. The reason I chose to be a nursing major was because it is something I love. From being a young child and taking care of my siblings to now being a college student I have always had a passion for helping others. Going into the field of nursing there will be trying times where you may want to give up. However, having passion in what I do it will help me know I am making a difference. As a nurse I will witness a patients potential last breathe, and knowing that I have been there to ease that teaches valuable lessons that everyday is a gift. Having this passion inside of me will always help me when nursing school gets tough. I know that it will be worth it to see a smile of a child who has had significant improvement. To me, this is the most important to question to ask an Honors Program Applicant. Having this drive inside me to serve others will allow me to be the best nurse that I can be. As a nursing major I know I will experience lifelong- learning that I will be able to use to help improve my patients daily life's. Passion is what gets me through a hard test, a hard quarter, or sometimes a hard day. Without the passion I have inside me I would not be able to push through sometimes.
