Establishing therapeutic relationship is the most significant intervention for the woman and her family. The woman’s first impression will have influenced her perception of the quality of care in her birth experience, a warm greeting provided to the woman and her family will make them feel valuable (Perry, 2012). Sometimes professionals of the health care team will encounter women who speak a different language and it is recommended to bring an interpreter who is fluent in the woman’s language. This will make her feel more comfortable and will promote safety. Health care team providers should demonstrate confidence and encourage the woman’s the ability to give birth.
Vital signs are another intervention completed at the beginning and after labour. This intervention needs to be assessed to identify signs of hypertension and infection.
