Over the years, education in nursing has transitioned from the service sector to college and university campuses. Hence, it has resulted in a complex responsibility for nursing faculty. The development in science and technology, in healthcare, has greatly impacted the nursing education. There are many factors that affect the current changes in nursing education such as a great lack of faculty, societal rise in multi-culturalism, re-education in financial resources and transformation in providing patient care. Other factors include the incorporation of evidence-based practice and necessity of higher degree nurses, and increasing technology with the additional educational upsurge. Additional factors are the essential for life long expertise, the transitional importance on acquisition of knowledge instead of teaching and the constant demand of consumer for responsibility of educational results (Billings & Halstead 2016, p. 1). The federal government has requested that post- secondary education increase their concepts in student assessment with clear objectives and verification of goals met, in an effort to establish that colleges and universities are responsible for the training and learning of the students. The development, evaluation and revision of the curriculum is the responsibility of faculty and is a continuing process. Faculty are deemed as the most effective and efficient method to initiate this task. The initial would be to recognize every faculty at all levels with focus on strengths and leadership qualities, then select co-leaders for the development. This will ensure shared accountability for this change in curriculum which may be tremendous for a faculty. This will create a foundation to build this curriculum. It is essential to notify faculty of the curriculum to be finalized. The curriculum will be completed by every faculty, by choice or by faculty who are appointed to represent a constituency and serve on the curriculum committee on their behalf, and have bylaws in place to define the curriculum process (Billings & Halstead, 2016, p. 98).
