This will allow Johnny to continue paying for school and for the rest of the students, who bought the test, to cheat and go unpunished. If they find anything pertaining to Johnny selling the exams, Professor Fuller would have stronger evidence against Johnny which would make punishing him more ethical. Based on Kohlberg’s theories of moral development, making this decision would place Professor Fuller in the conventional stage. Kohlberg explains that in the conventional stage, people will maintain a standard for the group they belong to (McLeod, 2011).
