Earliest Considerations
I have always had an interest in the medical field. My earliest interest into the medical field peeked at being a surgeon. I decided to become a nurse rather than a surgeon, when I came to the conclusion that a nursing career would require more patient interaction. In my opinion, the best part of the job would be caring for patients and sending them home healthy and happy. It was at that point when I chose to become a nurse.

When she was born, she had a defect that caused her back to curve as well as scoliosis. At the age of sixteen, she had to have corrective surgery in which, they put a metal rod into her back to straighten it. While the technology was advanced for what they had back then, as she aged and had two children the metal rods came apart and began to drift around and cause severe pain. In 2017, the day after Christmas, my mother had two more corrective surgeries to resolve those problems. The surgeries were very long and extensive. Throughout the entire process, the nurses answered every question and request.
