Nuclear Energy Satire

Decent Essays
Nuclear energy is its name
It's so wonderful that it puts everyone to shame
But don't worry nuclear energy is radioactive,
So, it will make you attractive
Put it on a plane, destroy a city or power a plant to make electricity
I'm sure you're wondering how it works, but don't worry I got the facticity.

First things first, atoms of uranium split into two
This is called fission and that's just the debut Fission gives off energy and heat ain't that gleam
This heat goes in a container of water to make it steam
Next, this steam is used to turn the turbine to generate electricity
That’s all for the generation, but what about the toxicity

Yes, it's hazardous, though it generates a lot of electricity.
Nuclear energy needs Uranium, which is rare

The film "The Atomic Cafe" depicts life in the atomic age using footage of the atomic bombs, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the Cold War. With the buildup of nuclear arms, the biggest issue the American people were facing at the time was nuclear warfare. During the 50's and 60's, the government used safety guidelines like "duck and cover" to assure the American people that a casual, atomic attack was simply nothing to worry about. This film, with the use of satire, poked holes in the government's propaganda. With the recent events happening since Trump's presidency, "The Atomic Cafe" is a reminder of how the atomic age might make another appearance.…

Critics of Bernie have struggled to classify the movie, and viewers would certainly attest to this statement. The movie is placed in the satire genre, but this does not seem necessarily complete. The film is well made and the level that it grips the watcher is almost disturbing. Although the film begins with an unusual opening of a jolly and flamboyant mortician conducting a procedure on a corpse for a guest lecture, Bernie morphs into a dark irony. As he prepares the dead for burial, he explains his ideology behind his work.…

America with deep sorrow I tell you this. If we do not react I fear that the outcome will be not in our favor. The united states and the USSR have been in the cold war now and I fear that they will try to end the cold war here.…

One ominous morning of 2008 I woke up to a saddened atmosphere. I look around at my parents, who are hardcore republicans, and asked them what was wrong. They said that they had lost the election. My eight year old self replied that they never won because they never ran, and of course they explained that their party lost the run for presidency. For the years to come every time I would look at the news and see a little “R” next to a person name I would know that they are the “good guys”.…

In literature, satire is a genre used to ridicule individuals, an organization or society with the intent to convey a message. It exposes the harsh reality of the world through the use of humor, irony and sarcasm. In the words of Carl Hiaasen “Good satire comes from anger. It comes from a sense of injustice, that there are wrongs in the world that need to be fixed” and this is the exact motive of editorial cartoons. Editorial cartoons are a visual form of satire used in order to illustrate opinions on current affairs and social issues, one such issue being the powerlessness that people of colour are currently facing in America.…

He wrote an article on his website (leading up to his book “How to Fight Presidents”) and found out the hard way that you should not google the weaknesses of a living president without expecting a visit from secret service agents who are immune to the charms of comedians. O’Brien has been with the website Cracked since 2007 or as he claims “before they were cool” (O’Brien). Comedians who read O’Brien’s article aren’t just random members of the community they take part in. The use of nuclear power has been under debate for many years; with issues such as environmental impact, safety, cost, waste management, and efficiency, the cons clearly outweigh the pros. Nuclear power plants have been supplying electricity to the population for nearly 60 years, but all things must come to an end as better options emerge and humanity develops as a species. It 's only natural for things to become outdated, or be replaced by better options as they become available. Nuclear power is a source of energy, created through a reaction when a uranium atom is split, releasing heat that is used to produce electricity. It was initially used as an alternative to coal, as coal-burning facilities were becoming a hazard to the environment.…
