Depending on the answers given, another series of questions could be asked such as whether the participant ever reported their concussion, where did the participant learn about concussions, and why they never reported their concussion if they thought they had one.
10. Checklist – p.159 – a type of data collection technique that gives the responders different options to choose from on certain topics
Researchers can use checklists to gather information on the different symptoms different players feel when they sustain a concussion. Players can check off which symptom they felt during the time of their concussion, and researchers could use this information to help educate others about the different symptoms that are possible with concussions.
11. Interview – p.167 – a data collection technique where data is collected by verbally asking questions and having the answers recorded
A researcher can interview players orally about their symptoms rather than by a written checklist. The researcher would be able to get more details this way about the level of symptoms felt and whether certain cases were mild or severe.
