In the first video, the teacher talks about how it is important it is to start teaching children how to use critical thinking, and how to promote creative thinking and questioning. She uses a box of objects linked to the lesson, and has the students inquire why those particular items are in the box. For the lesson to be effective, the teacher uses content relevant to the children to help them understand the concept of a thing versus an idea. I think one of the most important things she discusses in the video is the idea of cognitive space. Waiting for the students to have an idea or an answer to make sure they understand the lesson.
