The Channel EQ and the Compressor are perhaps the most used Plugins on your Channel Strips. To add them to a Channel Strip is as simple as clicking on the Plugin Button ➊ and select them from the Plugin Menu

There are two Channel Strip Components that are visible by default (you can toggle them in the Channel Strip Component Window ➌ (open as popup menu or Popover window):

Limiter, or Adaptive Limiter) is loaded on the Channel Strip, then this purple meter displays the amount of gain reduction.

Onscreen controls on the Smart Controls can't be

Values can be entered with a decimal (13.2dB), which makes it much quicker to set a control to a precise

On the Channel Strip Fader, you can click on the Fader knob or the Volume Display above ➑.
‣ Please note that the Volume Display shows the "minus" sign only for single digits but not for double digits. A Fader position of "-13.0dB" ➒ will be displayed as "13.0".
Here is a tip:
You can use the numerical entry to record an Automation Curve with a sudden value change. Let's say the value of the Volume Fader is 0dB and you want to drop it to -10dB at bar 5.
Set Automation to Latch Mode
Start playback before bar 5
Double click on the Fader and type in -10
At bar 5, hit return and the -10dB value will be written, including a Control Point for the previous value (0dB) a few Ticks before to create that sudden level drop ➓.
