My organization utilize EHR to determine if the member is eligible for non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT). For example, the member must have 3 EHR’s scheduled medical appointments. Hennepin Health customer service representative (CSR) is responsible to verify if an EHR was created in EPIC before issuing transportation authorization. If the member has 3 EHR’s appointments scheduled the CSR will approve transportation (bus card, common carrier taxi, or special transportation services) for non-emergency medical appointment.
