Both the Egyptians and the Chinese adopted tools from the hyksos and the Steppe nomads. The Steppe nomads depended on agricultural societies for grains and finished products, in exchange they offered horses, which flourished on the steppes. The Chinese people used the horses for traveling purposes and also for trading purposes. The Hyksos introduced Egypt to a very important tool named bronze. Bronze improved agriculture in a very big way because it was very durable. Bronze made agriculture improve, which provided food for the Hyksos. With the use of bronze becoming very important for China, this established a time period in Egypt named the Bronze Age.

In China, Chinese and the nomadic peoples always had tense relations. They often engaged in bitter wars, since the relatively poor but hardy nomads frequently fell upon the rich agricultural society at their doorstep and sought to seize to wealth. In Egypt, the invaders were named the Hyksos and they ruled from 1640-1570 B.C.Similar to China, Egypt’s reaction to nomadic invaders was in combat.
