While interning at the NJCDC, I had many different learning objectives I wanted to complete. Early on in the semester we came up with four different learning objectives, all very important in their own right. One of my first learning objectives was to learn how the organization is ran, and its efficiency with the community. I hope to learn this by staying close to my supervisor and the other employees, and keeping up to date with the clients that come in. I learned that the organization is ran on a day to day basis for the most part. There are grand objectives they each are assigned to complete, but for the most part, the vistas are more focused on completing objectives day to day. I was able to complete this objective by following the supervisor and staying up to date with the vistas.
My second learning objective was to learn how the organization best helps clients. My thought process was following up with the Vistas

I can achieve this by following the Vistas and listening to how they interpret clients needs and follow through with their recommendations. Though I was not able to sit in the meetings or interact with clients, I believe I learned how to better interpret the needs of others based on their cases. By listening to the Vistas converse about the clients and their needs, I was able to understand how to about searching for solutions, and focusing on primary solutions.
Overall, while interning at the National Help Center I gained valuable knowledge that I can use in my future career endeavours. In the future I want to venture into law enforcement and most of what I learned at the NHC can be applied to various aspects of law enforcement. I learned to generally assess cases on an individual basis, make sure an environment is welcoming, organized and safe, and to complete objectives on time for the benefit of others and

    3. The first key outcome of CBT intervention is to change the way a client interprets certain feelings or situations. Following this is the second objective which helps an individual to then adapt behaviours to create a more positive approach to produce beneficial outcomes. When we talk about change it is important that we educate the client in order to become more rational within the relevant moment. In doing so the client can provide himself/herself justification about why they might be feeling a certain way and what that really means in the grand scheme of their centred self and contribution towards happiness.…

One area that I believe I was successful in was in regards to competency 3.3, 3.8 and 3.12. While caring for a client who had been experiencing chest pain prior to me coming on shift, I ensured that I spoke with my nurse about the changes to expect and how to respond if the changes should arise during my care. I also made sure to take frequent vital signs and use subjective questioning to determine any changes in the status of my client. This allowed me to skillfully implement appropriate nursing care and prepare myself for a situation that could potentially change rather quickly. One area that I have been working on and would like to improve upon is developing mini DM assignments with each client that I take into my care.…
