Nine Military Maxims

There are nine military strategies maxims to be considered. These are essentials to the United States Army´s Field Manual of Military Operations. To take these strategies and make the useful for business might be helpful and can further your development in the strategy area. From objectives to simplicity they can all play either a big role or minor one, but they can all be applied to a business strategy. I would rank objective as my number 1, because for me it is important to have a clear, defined and achievable goal in front of you. Without a plan, a business will struggle for success. A guide towards your objectives are essential as well, therefore I would place simplicity as my number 2. As the book says; prepare a clear, uncomplicated plan to ensure comprehensive understanding. Building further on this I would have unity of command as my number 3. To reach our objectives, a business must ensure unity of effort under the leadership of a commander or in this case a manager. Then, you will have an objective, a plan and a manager to ensure the workforce is working towards the common goal of the business. Number 4 in my opinion should be offensive, because you need to be offensive minded to make your goals come true. Number 5, mass to concentrate combat power at the decisive place and time. "Place the enemy in a disadvantageous position through the flexible application of combat power."
