Commercials are a part of our everyday life. They are on television, radio, in magazines, and in newspapers. They pay large amounts of money for a prime-time spot on the most popular programs on TV like the Super Bowl. Commercial designers work tremendously hard to surpass one another for the most creative and exciting commercials on television to gain consumer recognition. Nike is a brand that is popular with athletes of all kinds and also with the general public both athletic and non-athletic. With its swoosh or checkmark and renowned slogan “Let’s Go”, Nike has already chosen its target audience. It is not unusual to see famous faces like Kobe Bryant, Kevin Hart, and Simone Biles in athletic commercials. Having athletes of this caliber support your brand gives Nike strong ethos in their campaign. Nike has always appealed to a wide variety of individuals. While it may initially be geared toward athletes, their campaign catchphrases appeal to just about anyone who has the drive to accomplish more than the norm in life. These big-name stars make us trust the advertisement. They come together with the central focus of working together to make the world a better place. To us they are credible and obviously endorse the Nike brand. Using common people in this commercial also makes us feel a connection with them. Famous people are not the only ones wearing Nike running shoes, it is also common people like you and me. By using athletes in their commercials that can be viewed as regular people Nike is able to relate more to a common audience. Every day people view Nike advertisements as what the pros use and in tern feel that they need Nike products as well. The catchphrase “Let’s Go “generates ambition in individuals. No matter what the sport, Nike portrays every athlete as working hard to be the best that they can be.
