Introduction Nigeria holds a vast history by holding a steak in early civilizations of renowned artistry. By being the most populous country in Africa Nigeria is the eight most populous country in the world. Nigeria’s physical geography is very unique and has potential for being a powerful country. Nigeria has a vast array of issues however with creative reform policies and support it could develop into a great nation.

Physical Geography Nigeria is located in West Africa neighboring Benin, Niger and Cameroon, with a coast on Gulf of Guinea in the South Atlantic Ocean. Its coordinates are 9.0820° N, 8.6753° E. Nigeria is on the cusp of undergoing an impending demographic dividend due to the increase in the share of its population in the working ages. Nigeria’s three largest ethnic groups are: Hausa-Fulani which is 29 percent of the population, Yoruba which is 21 percent and Igbo which is 18 percent.
In the northern region of Nigeria it is mostly Islamic and dominated by the Hausa-Fulani ethnic group. There are over 521 languages that have been spoken in Nigeria 9 of them are now extinct. Nigeria’s official language is English which is popular in the countries urban communities than the rural areas. In Nigeria the population is equally divided between Islam and Christianity. The approximate percentage is 47.7% Christian, 42.5% Muslim and 9.8% other.

All factors of Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs plays in affect with the country and its reform. The United States institute Of Peace (USIP) is providing education, grants, training, and resources to those working for peace in Nigeria, with approaches that will connect authorities more constructively with citizens, especially at the state level. But after swaying from one military coup to another, Nigeria now has an elected governance.
