”This just in, This just in” is the phrase that has been heard over decades that has grabbed many people's attention towards news broadcast. In fact, the news dedicated throughout decades to present current event news on a local and global scale to most people .Although, that phrase is still heard in today’s several newscasts, it no longer has the validity and credibility as it did decades ago . In addition, news companies have shifted their news priorities from presenting hard news to soft news. In fact, the more audience watching that certain news programming the more ratings they’ll receive as well as financial profits. As result, news agency have focused on selling stories and getting the attention of the viewers cause for the news corporation the main priority is producing revenue not the news. As the article section of Newspaper Research Journal states “Media organizations of their owners, managers or editors have interest biases of motives other than simply presenting “news” or educating the public( Schaefer And Fordan 129). The purpose of news companies is to inform the people about news locally and globally. In fact, the the news companies motives are to produce ratings and revenue is understanding but in a proper way . For they produce revenue through the presentation of infotainment in their news. In fact, news companies in recent years have utilized the strategy of infotainment. This concept of infotainment, is that news is presented in a form to be both entertaining and informative. For example, in recent news this can be referenced through the news of the women who claimed to be African-American and was the head spokesperson of the NAACP and now they have found out that this women was naturally white. In fact, news should shift from the presentation of soft news entertainment and shift to the informative hard news. Moreover, The purpose of the news is to communicate the audience as Dimitrakopoulou points out in News Media “ The media, therefore, must : inform the public about everything that happens around them,provide knowledge on the importance and the significance of events”(Dimitrakopoulou 899). This is important for the purpose of news companies is to educate and let the people of that certain country what is happening in their environment. In fact, the news agency should focus on the presentation of current events that contain hard news in their country and inclusive around the world. Also, one of many journalism ethics is for news companies to inform the audience with news and point out the problems that are occurring in society. Although, many people may say that hard news does not bring profit that is false. For many decades the people were interested in hard news and were informed on real news but the news has changed it’s focus on soft news and the profits. As a result, the news companies have become less trustworthy due to the fact that they focus on profits rather than journalism ethics.
