Viewers tend to watch news channels which the individual believes rather than channels do not believe in because people do not want their opinions being challenged. As the viewer watches tv or news channels, the viewer does not want to spend hours on the internet searching or flipping through different news channels trying to look for the true story. News reporters know several different ways to get to the viewer, emotional appeal being one of many. Reporters are convincing with words to get to the viewer's emotion and that is how news channels reel you in. People do not want to question what the news channels are reporting. After a long day of being at work or school, people just want to sit on the couch, turn on the news and be told what to believe. Viewers believe that what we are being told is the truth. What we are being told should be the truth. But that is not always the case with it being the twenty-first century. Since it is the twenty first century, the technology we have is outstanding. Information is being thrown at every person, at every street corner, on every billboard. With that being said, it is incredibly easy to receive information about any topic that has ever happened. The expansion of technology today comes hundreds of different news sources on the Internet and on television. With so many different news sources, the mind of a typical viewer may be confused with all the different stories, facts, and information being thrown at them. Every news reporter is part of a specific political party. Today, there are two main political parties in which the majority of news stations participate in. These two parties are completely different from each other yet both have an enormous impact on the media. Each news reporter will represent one of the political parties and he/she will report the events that favor that party. When teens hear about something going on in the world, or see something going on, these young adults start researching about the topic. Researching as in looking through multiple websites rather than just the first one that pops up. Adults do the same thing, the difference is, teens will go through four or more websites looking for the true story. These young adults need reassurance. Therefore young adults will do as needed to receive the confirmation of a specific story. Teens will compare and contrast what has been read from all of the different websites and news channels and come up with a truth that he/she believes in. Adults, on the other hand, just stick to the news channel of choice and believe what the host tells them. That is why the generation that includes the ages 15 to 21, is known to be well-known of what is going on in the world around them. This is not because adults are more lazy or because teens have more time on their hands to be researching these things, but because teens generally are more curious to what kind of world they are living in.
