Some news sources hold strong political bias’ and will sometimes provide information that does not accurately reflect the truth. It is fine to have a stance and opinions on certain issues, but when that opinion skews the truth of the story, then it becomes an issue. Although it is hard to completely avoid this scenario, students can go into a situation aware that their source may contain bias, and proceed with that mentality. Sometimes many different sources will offer more accurate information on specific issues than the other source did. By opening up and being willing to hear about an issue from all sides, an individual can make an educated decision about their own views. It is important for students to not believe everything that they hear because false stories and pieces of information that get spread around.
