New Orleans Saints Social Media Analysis

Social media, specifically Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, are important tools for the New Orleans Saints organization. They use these platforms to make it where fans are always up-to-date with any Saints news, promotions, and multimedia. It is also where they interact with their fans and go out of their way to ensure the fans know they are as important to the organization as the team members, partnerships, etc. The overall personality of the team’s social media is informative, nice, and a bit funny. This is shown through shared memes, joking with fans, and in their day-to-day posts and multimedia, especially videos. When analyzing a week’s worth of social media posts, it was obvious that the team’s digital media staff does have a set schedule for specific features, but the posts are also random and spontaneous at different times throughout the week. Twitter is the hub of the Saints' social media, followed by Facebook, Instagram, and last, and certainly the least, Snapchat. These press conferences and daily reports are staples of the Saints' weekly activity, and fans are relatively interested in the content. Fans get really riled up for are the "We win, you win free shipping" posts that come towards the afternoon, if the Saints win of course. It's a wise tactic to tweet/facebook a code for free shipping right around lunch time. Viewers see it and react to it just like the organization want because they are proud of their team's win and want to show their pride. Mondays wrap up with posts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram notifying viewers that the game photo album is up on the Saints website. Instagram is mainly used for sharing these photo albums until later in the week as game day draws
