The American constitution is a fixed document, because the constitution has only undergone minor changes. As society has been changing, the Constitution’s interpretation has been tweaked and altered to fit today’s situations. The American Constitution and the Bill of Rights drives politics by the way people interpret the constitution. It is equivalent to a pastor and the bible. The Constitution establishes the foundation for American politics by setting guidelines for the people.

Since in this case, Terry was a high schooler, her order was restricted. Her personal belongings being searched was not a violation under the school’s rules at the time. Also, all students have limited freedom at school, because of school rules. From a student’s point of view, they feel like their equality has been revoked. I looked up two polls on debate.org. The first poll, “Do schools have the right to search students' lockers?” and “Should schools check students backpacks or lockers?” The first poll was 54% yes and 46% no. The second poll was 51% yes and 49% no. People’s views on this issue are very close to tied. There seems to be people who are all for personal belonging searcher or completely against it.
