Nerve Root Tension Sign

The patient is here for followup evaluation. He is about 80% better, his lower back is concerned; happy, pleased with the progress. He did not try the therapy. He did not do the lumbosacral belt, but the medicine and ointment helped him.

Full range of motion of the lumbosacral spine, minimal discomfort in extension, minimal paraspinal spasm still present, but otherwise straight leg rising is negative. Nerve root tension sign is negative. Skin is okay, neurovascularly intact. The patient is alert, oriented, in no acute distress, well-pleasant man in good spirits.

A lengthy discussion with the patient. Heating pad recommended. Exercise, physical therapy for his lumbosacral spine discussed. Dos and don'ts for the back discussed. Necessary
