Nerve cell Nerve cell or neuron receive stimuli and transmit action potentials to other neurons or to effectors organ. They transmit nerve impulses from place to place in the body. They initiate and conduct electrical discharges. Neuron or nerve cell has the amazing ability to gather and transmit electrochemical …show more content…
First, the sensory neurons, it received stimuli from the environment and transmit this information to the central nervous system for interpretation. These types of neuron are normally concentrated in organs especially designed to receive specific types of stimuli. These sensory receptors includes in the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin. Second, the interneuron , it exist primarily in central nervous system organs. These are responsible for interpreting sensory impulses brought to them by sensory neurons. They also transmit motor neurons as effector organs. Last ,the motor neurons , it carry impulses from the command center in the central nervous system to effector organs. Nerve cells are linked to one another from elaborate circuits. The secret of how one learns and remembers, feels emotion, perceive the world, walk, talk, and do countless things are all related to the basic properties of neurons and how they are connected to one
