Nelson Mandela
Racial problems and inequality has been a problem for centuries. Nelson Mandela and the others Mandela had impacted had tried to help these problems over the years. Mandela wanted equality for everyone in South Africa. Over the years Mandela will think of ways to help better South Africa. Nelson Mandela’s impact on the African National Congress helped better South Africa by giving South Africa more opportunities and equality.
The African National Congress was led by Nelson Mandela when he was elected president in the year of 1952. Before Mandela was elected president James Moroka was in presidency of the African National Congress. “The first important step the African National Congress made under Moroka was to begin to cooperate with the South African Indian Congress (SAIC) and other South Africans who were also fighting apartheid.”(Gaines 77). “The United Nations General Assembly had denounced apartheid in 1973, and in 1976 the UN Security Council voted to impose a mandatory embargo on the sale of arms to South Africa.”(Apartheid Comes to an End). Many people of South Africa had hoped to see this act come to an end. At last many South Africans were finally going to be able to have equality.
South Africans fought hard for what they believed in and made many various attempts to end apartheid. Mandela made an impact on many people and gave them hope. Equality for South Africans would soon take place and many people would see Nelson Mandela as a hero. In all, the organizations had brave and courageous people in them to fight for a better life.
