Children have a major effect on marriages and their parents. The divorce rate for couples with children is 40 percent lower than those couples without. Children can grow a marriage and make it strong and have a wonderful family. A picture titled, “Divorced Fathers”, gives credible statistics about marriage rates and what having children and not having children can cause for a relationship, as well as how children victim to divorce live like. 75 percent of children that are victim to a divorce, live with their mothers. In fact 43 percent of children growing up, live without their fathers. These children that are victim to these divorces don’t get it easy either. 28 percent of these children that live in a divorced parent 's home, live on an income below the poverty line. Half of all children in america will witness their parents first divorce. Half of that will also witness that parents second marriage divorce. Divorced couples also report lower levels of happiness in an article titled, “Divorce Has a Negative Effect on Psychological, Economic, and Social Well-Being Both for Former Spouses and Children of Divorced Parents”, which can in turn affect the child greatly. These children that suffer from a divorce are at a higher risk of depression and reduced achievement. Children learn from their parents and when they see a divorce they are 4 times more likely to divorce later in their life depending on their position of the divorce or what they thought about it. Kids with divorced parents can most likely be helped in school and in their life. School work simply comes from teachers looking out for that kid, especially male ones since he might be separated from his father. They might say that the kid would be better not seeing the arguments they would have and that the child should live with them at separate times for the kids sake. While that may be true, the child will never get to know what it’s like to have a mother and father that love each other and get to do things together.
