Global warming is literally a hot topic for today. According to the numerous researches, average global temperature has increased by more than 0.7 °C throughout the last century. This rise do not seems to be significantly high. However, millions of people around the world as well as the representatives of wild nature suffer from the negative impact of this abnormal tendency. Generally, global warming is presented by the high amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The primary reasons for such emissions are burning of fossil fuels, oil for energy, burning gasoline for transportation, cutting and burning forests in order to build new plants and chemical factories. Gary visited the Baffin Island Inuit village of Pangnirtung. There is a national park there that is called Auyuittuq and means “the land that never melts”. However, Gary reported that this land is melting by the reason of the local impact of urbanization. He noted that global warming is not an issue with possible negative economical consequences but an issue of humankind in general. The information that he collected in his book “Earth Under Fire” is as inspiring as sobering. For a time Gary became a witness of climate changes in different parts of the globe and this book, as he writes is a “message from many of the places where effects of rapid climate change are being seen and where scientists are studying what is happening” (Braasch & McKibben, 2007). This author managed not only to report about these changes but to photograph them and this makes even deeper effect as the reader may observe the fragile nature and human-driven harmful effects on it. “The pictures can, however, provide direct evidence that global warming is happening now, all over the world.
