According to Spidal (2009), “Time management is really about self- management” (pg.16). Self-management gives us the ability to manage our resources and task by allocating time. Because time-management is a vital skill for this agency, I believe it’s important to provide the necessary information to stress the importance of time-management. Time-Management is being able to manage one’s self and task at any given moment. The staff at DFCS are expected to deliver the proposed or needed services to families in a timely, accurate, and compassionate manner. When dealing with families and the diversity among individuals, this unit is responsible for reporting the necessary information to establish monthly reports. Most importantly, time-management allows us to create a system that effectively distributes the task in designated work hours. This involves a process of determining needs, setting and achieving goals, and prioritizing and planning tasks to achieve a specific result. By allocating time, you are able to accomplish many tasks at any given moment. Managing time allows the staff to maximize productivity by self-regulating one’s actions.
