Cher's fashion is my dream if I was a teen in the 90s; from wearing her iconic yellow plaid ensemble to her Calvin Klein dress, Her style is a key component for why the movie, Clueless, is so popular ( other than her fabulous personality! ). I wasn't able to recreate most of the outfits in this movie, but after looking at many, many outfits from this movie I found her gym outfit easier to replicate. I added black heels instead of sneakers to make…

Although some people may think that the company Toms Shoes is an organization that is logistically impossible to manage, Toms Shoes is a company that does what it says and is one of the most philanthropic companies. These sorts of designs were followed by other designers such as Pierre Cardin, Emanuel Ungaro and Yves Saint Laurent. The bold colours, short skirts, and miniskirts were focused on the younger generation. This style didn’t only look glamorous and beautiful, but it was also practical for the summer days and made young…

Fifteen hundred years before 1770, Native Americans were roaming around what is now known to be Sylmar and San Fernando California. The Native Americans built a popular mission, dedicated to Saint Ferdinand. Because the Native Americans saw this structure as a very significant model, it became the foundation of the city of San Fernando. Around the 1800’s, a priest from Spain took charge of the mission in San Fernando, and desired to bring something to remind him of his home. The priest brought olive tree seeds, and planted them around what was known to be as San Fernando.…

One of my favorite retailers has to be Urban Outfitters. I definitely find myself making a lot of purchases through them whether it be home décor, clothes, cosmetics, or just small gifts for a friend. When someone mentions Urban Outfitters, I think “modern”, “cool”, “trustworthy”, and “accessible”. UO is not only an online retailer, but a brick-and-mortar as well. More recently, one way I feel that they are able to pull people in is with their new loyalty program.…

I think this story idea will interest Huck readers. Along the US-Mexico border, migrants and thru-hikers walk side-by-side but worlds apart. The Pacific Crest Trail attracts two types of people long-distance hikers about to start the journey of a lifetime and northbound migrants seeking better lives in the US. In spring, their paths converge near wooden columns marking the start of the 2,060 -mile journey that traverses the spine of the Sierra Mountains to the Canadian border. Both the thru-hikers and the migrants share a common bond and that's to cross the southernmost section of the PCT safely, while carrying the weight of expectations on their shoulders.…

Nautica, a Myrtle Beach Favorite Like many places near the water, there are Nautica stores here on the Grand Strand at both Tanger Outlet locations. The word “Nautica” comes from the word “Nautical” (or the latin “Nauticus”), which means relating to ships, shipping, sailors, or navigation on a body of water. You can see why the brand is a recognizable one in Myrtle Beach (and on many other popular beaches), along seas, gulfs, and around ports all across the globe. A type of sail called a “spinnaker” is the picture logo that we see on the various sport, casual, and swimwear produced by the chain. What actually started off as a men’s line has evolved many times into what is now a place the entire family can buy hats, jackets, shirts,…

Even if you would not wear Valentino’s Fall 2013 line, the clothes used to cover up as the trash gets taken out say something about the person wearing them. Make up, hairstyles, clothes, shoes, and even posture are all things contributing to fashion. The human body 's presentation can be compared to the traditional –blank canvas. Dressing up and creating a personal style is precisely what painters do when in contact with their blank template. Another example is the stunt pilot in Annie Dillard’s essay.…

The American clothing brand, Abercrombie & Fitch (A&F) is best known for its trendy and collegiate inspired accessories and casual wear targeted toward teens and young adults. The vision of Michael Jeffries, brought on as CEO in 1992, led A&F to become the uniform of preppy, conventionally attractive teenagers across America (Goldstein, 2014). However, in recent years the brand has suffered and the clothing retailer has lost popularity. Logos and Symbols Logos and symbols are often easily recognized and can be a valuable way to identify products (Keller, 2008, p. 156). The A&F logo, born in New Albany, Ohio utilized the Adobe Garamond Bold font as its logotype and in some brand scenarios it was shortened to A&F.…
