Nature Vs Nurture Personality

Throughout the history of human development, there are many different theories which discuss how nature or nurture aspects have strongly influenced the development of human personality. Human personality could be formed primarily either by certain characteristics or traits that they are inherited from family members, which is defined as nature or they are influenced by other environmental or social factors outside them, which is defined as nurture. The impacts of nature and nurture on the human development are varied. Nature can be defined as genetic features that are shared among family members (Mojica, 2017). This genetic inheritance could be formed at the moment of conception and encoded in people’s genes (Mojica, 2017). Each individual would have different inherited genes receiving from their parents and they might have to carry those traits throughout their lives (Mojica, 2017). On the other hands, nurture is defined as different external factors both in physical as well as social environments to which a person is exposed from birth to death (Mojica, 2017). The outside factors such as the society, the neighborhood, peer pressure or media could have different degrees of influence on the human personality development (Mojica, 2017). Nurture plays a critical role in early human development including a toddler, teenager, and adolescent. A teenager could have good behave, be considerate and kind or could have very aggressive behavior that associated with violence and possibly criminal convictions.
