Statement of Topic
Human was created by God at the beginning of time in his image (Genesis 1). Hence, it was natural for man to be good, and morally right. Nevertheless, because Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, humans are corrupted by sins. Hence, they were banished from heaven and had to live in a fallen world, as their offspring have continue to do so. Even though man was born inherently good because they are model after the virtuous God, they are corrupted by sin. Nevertheless, the nature of sin is a theological doctrine that is widely discussed throughout history. However, because God is omnipotent, many people questions why he does not stop evil, without understanding that sin is the true cause, and God never intend for the world to be fallen. Moreover, because human have free will, they are responsible for their actions. Nevertheless, the contemporary world does not attribute the evil in the world to sin, but to human action. Thus, they sometime hold an inaccurate view of the world. Especially, those who believe in naturalism will rule out the fact that sin cause evilness in the world. Indeed, this will create controversy in analyzing the role of sin in human life, as well as the nature of sin.
Biblical Evaluation
The Bible told the story of how man had fallen. Thus, the nature of sin is addressed throughout the text, through several stories and teaching. Especially, sin was described through a variety of terms to focus on different characteristic of sin. Nevertheless, the two themes that rise above all were the fact that sinners are always destroyed and corrupted by sin, and sin do not please God .
