PBCs are a flame retardant that cannot legally be made in the USA, but are legally imported and pollute the bay about evenly throughout. When gas, oil, or coal is burned, PAHs can be formed. Sea World is surprisingly not the first establishment that decided to economically strive through the exploitation of animals. Orca whales that were captured and delivered to their lifelong home in SeaWorld amusement parks went from swimming up to 100 miles a day to being put in tanks that are much too small for them. The average size of an orca whale can reach up to 20-26 feet long and can weigh as much as 22,000 pounds. The size of the orca whales in comparison to the tanks they live in at SeaWorld are said to be in comparison to a “bathtub.”…
Introduction Western Port Bay is a coastal region located in the south of Victoria which opens up into the Bass Strait. It is one of the most biologically diverse areas in the state, being home to x amount of species of flora and fauna. Westernport Bay has a coastal climate, with high rainfall and mild temperatures when compared with the rest of Victoria.
