Naturalistic Observation Report

Every day I wake up and have to go to school. I sit in a chair, moving only between class periods all day long. I listen to teachers drone on about the topics they are teaching making sure that I get the information rather than understand it. I listen and observe children behave as if they were Neanderthals, in my opinion. I guess after twelve years of an education, my question is what causes these people to act in such ways. When I am watching these people while sitting next to them, I am considered to be making a naturalistic observation because they do not know what I am doing. They just assume that I am listening to the teacher or other students talk; however, I am taking note of why they act out when the teacher is not paying attention or why they obey all the “class rules” when someone of importance to the school walks in to observe. …show more content…
Under the psychological basis of behavior there are two theories: cognitive and psychodynamic, both of which can be used to explain the reason for the people’s behavior. When these people act out in school they are reprimanded by both the school administrators and their parents at home. This experience is filtered through their mind and given a meaning: “by getting in trouble at school I can also get in trouble at home.” Afterwards their response would be not to act out again; unfortunately, this is not always the case. Sometimes they skip the filter which gives meaning to their experience, so they act out and go directly to being upset again which leads them to act out once more. The filter acts as a choice; it gives them a choice on whether to clean up their act and behave or to continue to behave in a way that gets them in trouble. Typically, they chose the poorer choice of the two. Another part of me wonders if it is the psychodynamic psychic structures that are controlling their

On 9/25/16 at 2157 hours, Officer Acosta and I were working patrol assigned to unit 3A22. We were traveling west bound on Claremont St, just west of Fair Oaks Ave, when we heard approximately 8 to 10 gunshots coming from the north of us. Officer Acosta and I responded to the area of Pepper St, east of Sunset Ave, in the Cul de sac. As I started canvassing the area, searching for any possible Suspects, Witnesses, Victims and or evidence, I observed possible blood splatter in the parking lot of the King’s Villages north of Pepper St Cul de sac.…

First of all, the question we are going to explore is “Whether or not playing video games increase aggressive behavior in children?” The independent variable will be violent and nonviolent video games, and the dependent variable is how much aggression was demonstrated. I will be using the naturalistic observation and experimentation methods to answer this hypothesis. According to Openstak (2014) “the greatest benefit of natural observation is the validity, or accuracy of information collected unobtrusively in a natural setting.”…

Not having to do what they were doing before that was wrong. Also, they both give teachers the experience to learn more and understand the children more, and also the teacher will be able to get new ideas. In the article “How do you learn to walk? Thousands of steps and dozens of falls per day”, experimental research was done to find an answer to how infants learn to walk. Previous research was conducted on this topic, but it did not show anything about how much or how far infants walk, how often they fall, what makes them continue walking after falling, and how these abilities change with development. Researchers have simply focused on the structure of postures from a crawling to an upright walking position and the regular steps of infants on open grounds where they have to use natural locomotion, or the natural ability to move. This process is known as periodic gait.…

Continuing the research topic from last data collection assignment, I will further investigate on how people in real life actually memorize and remember their ancestors, and different family traditions and customs to sacrifice their ancestors by utilizing the participant observation and the observation research methods. I recalled the memories of my personal experience during last August when I was engaging in my grandmother’s worship, which applied to both the participant observation and the observation research methods. On the one hand, for the participant observation, I would like to share what my family members did during my grandmother’s worship. It was the first anniversary after the death of my grandmother, which was a significant day for all family…

Observation: Observation was one of the research methods that we implemented into our research specifically naturalistic observation; observing subjects in their natural environment. We spent a great deal of time conducting this research and determining efficient solutions. By observing the customers in their natural setting, we can get a better look at the behaviors as well as the interests of the customers as they occur in the real-world. This method allows us to test not only the mobile, but the social aspects of SoLoMo. We are going to be observing all departments of the Arizona Grand to see who is primarily on their phones.…
