There were many groups that really wanted to achieve independence for the province without using terrorism or socialism. This lead to the creation of the Parti Quebecois. A national liberation movement was formed in 1963. It was called Le Front de Liberation du Quebec, also known as FLQ. Their goal was to achieve Quebec independence by resorting to terrorism.
