National Guard pays for your school as well as pays you like a job would. It gives you a head up in school and the medical world, but it can take a little longer for you to finish the degree you are working towards. There's a bill called the G I Bill which pays your tuition or a good chunk and if you are a good student that I need you qualify for it and it pays a really large portion of your tuition. You can become a healthcare specialist, which is also known as a combat medic and it's something that I personally am very interested in. I think it's so awesome that you can pursue your career in the civilian world as well as being in the national guard simultaneously.
My family has always been in the military, my cousin is currently stationed in Germany. So going into the National Guard seems like a better option because it gives me a lot more freedom to pursue a career in the civilian world, while still keeping my options open. It's kind of like getting the best of both worlds. If I were to going to National Guard I would definitely want to be a healthcare specialist, just because that's my interests. So I feel like if I do start my pre med degree and enlist in the National Guard then I will have an upper hand when it comes to medical school. As well as an upper hand as to being able to go into the army as a combat medic if that is the path I choose to go
