He was just a year younger than me but he got held back in 8th grade. So he was a sophomore and I was a senior. At first, I wasn’t really interested in pursing anything with him because he was younger and he got held back a year. Those details didn’t matter much after he bought me a hotdog at a hockey game. My friends and I went to the schools hockey game on this night along with many other students including Thomas. We would all sit in the fan section and shout rude things to the other team. It was halftime; my friend Katie and I were hungry but didn’t have any money on us. Katie then started asking the people around us for money, like we were homeless. Thomas heard her asking and kindly offered to buy us a hotdog if we got him one. So we did that and that was the end of that. Later that night he messaged me on Facebook and asked for my number.
Following next in Knapp’s model is the experimentation stage. In this stage we have established that there is some type of attraction to this person and we want to learn more about them. We are trying to figure out who this person is and to do so we have to start going on dates. Through these dates we learn about common interests and other topics or ideas we can share with each
