Being a Teacher My boyfriend’s mom and sister are both teachers and I always say to the both of them “how do you do it?” Never in my wildest dreams would I ever be a teacher at least that is what I thought. Then one day I decided I would sit and watch how my daughters Pre-School class worked. I figured teaching a Pre-School class would be an easy job but I was wrong. My day started at 7am and I knew right then and there today was going to be a long. As I was getting ready all I could think was how horrible this day would be. I would have to deal with screaming, bratty kids all day and I was not prepared. My daughter on the other hand, was very excited that I would be joining her in school. So my daughter and I got ourselves ready for school.

The teacher told me that even though it seemed like the children were only playing they were also learning. I asked what the children were learning and the teacher told me they were learning to share and problem solve. I never looked at playing like that before but, I was able to see problem solving first hand that day. One little girl had all of the blocks and did not want to share so the other children got upset and started telling on her. One of the teachers asked the little girl if there was a problem and the little girl answered yes. So the teacher asked how to solve the problem and the little girl shared the blocks. What I found interesting was that the teacher did not tell the little girl to share but instead she asked the little girl what she needed to do and the little girl solved the problem on her …show more content…
The kids were sitting down having a snack, while others kids were being picked up. I asked the teachers if they were able to leave after all the children were done and they said they were there till 4pm. The teachers are not allowed to clean and sanitize the classroom until all of the children have left. Then they had to stay and do paper work. I didn’t realize how much work being a Pre-School teacher was. Altogether my day at Leads Head Start Pre-School was eye opening to me. Yes, the children did a lot of playing and dancing, but there was learning involved with everything the children do. The teachers were amazing and love the children as their own, and the children loved the teachers too. I made new friends that day and I have also been thinking about doing early childhood education. I enjoyed the children more then I figured I would. They were good all day and made me feel right at home. I loved helping the children and maybe one day helping children will be my
