As for being aggressive, I guess I should have said that I didn’t have enough confidence in my riding ability. I had always ridden my dad’s calf roping horses, ever since I was a small toddler. My older brother had started salf roping competitiavly in rodeos. I made a lot of new friends that were involved in barrel racing. It looked like it was so fun. All of my friends keep asking me when I was going to start running, I would constantly ask my dad about getting me a barrel horse. He told me to run him calf horse “Skeeter”, to see if barrel racing was something that I wanted to do. Please note “Skeeter” is an extreamly fast barrel horse as well as a calf horse. He was too much horse for me to start my resurgence pf riding, let alone barrel racing.
Proving that I was serious about barrel racing, I finally got my own barrel horse “Ruler”. I have to reassure myself that “Ruler” will not put me into a situation that would allow me to get hurt. So back to the practice pen to work on our fundamentals and adding more speed as we progress to help built my confidence and trust in my galliant steed “Ruler
