Eventing has been around for decades. It was originally created to be used as a training competition for horses and their officers but it has slowly evolved into a sport that is taken very seriously by the riders. It was first introduced in the Olympic Games in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1912.

I urged my horse on towards the final jump. Right before we would have hit it, his leg muscles tightened and he pushed off, just like we had practiced so many times before. We flew over the jump and landed with a solid thump. The spectators in the stands erupted. The clapping and cheering was deafening but it was exactly what we had earned. The three day event was well worth all the training that my horse and I had put into it. Eventing is a thrilling three day event that a master and his or her horse perform in. It is not just to show how well a horse and rider can perform the games, but to show how well they work together. With jumping, dressage and endurance tests, eventing is an old but challenging event that horses and riders work daily to prepare
