Woman also contribute to the economic system by piling stacks of banana leaves. In addition, woman’s wealth in is more symbolic than monetary, because for example during the death of a woman or man, other women would distribute their wealth (banana leaves) to widowed women. This tradition is also an example of division of labor, because men’s role are clearly identified while women contribute only with the banana leaves. Woman’s duties and obligations are strictly regulated.
In comparison the Yanomamo economic organization/domestic life also shows gender roles however, it is a bit different.
