Writing became my best escape during the time that I am so down and depress years ago. Feeling overwhelmed and hopeless, I began writing all the challenges that happened from the first day of my struggle up to that present moment. I started reflecting on the issues that are bothering me. Lo and behold, writing relieved some tension I felt. If you feel down right now, you might as well do some scribbling.…

    My Experience As A Writer

As someone who has migrated to so many different places, I have always yearned for that sense of belonging, to place my soul in one familiar place, not having to cut my life into pieces of memory and forgetfulness. Yet I have come to realize how my perspective – as an immigrant from China and minority in the U.S. – has offered me a different, special opportunity to understand others and empathize with them. Having been a learner, teacher, and writer, my experiences have inspired and motivated me to contribute to the social and cultural diversity of the literary field. Scenes of moving away arise in my memory as I think about the experiences that have shaped me into the person I am. Completely new to the American environment and unable to understand or speak English, I felt isolated and alone, and had to adjust to new customs and cultures.…

I feel that writing is a good subject to be familiar and practicing in frequently, it is a necessary tool to communicate properly. Although, if I were to be truthful I’d have to say that I am not the biggest fan of it due to the fact that it bores me and I have trouble figuring out what to say. So I find it hard to enjoy writing because most of the time I am just struggling to concentrate because I don’t have much more to say about a topic. Recently, since I have not been in school for a while, I have found myself forgetting rules to the English language in my everyday speech so I find it to be useful. This has influenced how I feel about writing because the more I write, the more easily I can remember to use these rules in my daily…

On the other hand, I when I am given a topic to write about I think it is harder to make the paper interesting and enjoyable to read.…

I hate writing. Writing has never been my strong suit, I can solve complicated math problems and understand the structure of an atom but most of the time when it comes to writing I freeze up and don’t have any clue where to start. The things I have written are research papers or biographies and the occasional facts about yourself essay; just the things that you are assigned to do by a teacher. My writing has been pretty limited, so you can imagine my thoughts when I figured out what I had gotten myself into by signing up for English Comp 101. At first I was really scared and then I relaxed and told myself I can do it if I really try.…

To me, writing has always been busy work and something that teachers only used to create grades. My writing experience in high school was very limited to one category in: practice AP essays. The writing I did in class was always preparing for AP exams and was very fact based. Most essays, such as history, were only used to show that I knew the material and weren’t graded on how good the writing was. I didn’t feel like I had any freedom to stray away from the format that the AP graders expected because I didn’t want that to affect my score.…

Writing has always been a struggle for me for as long as I can remember. I find it difficult to put my thoughts on a paper, especially if I have to do it in another language. Some people think that as long as they can speak a language or communicate with other people, it is enough. However, these people are totally wrong.
