Even before this class, writing has been a significant and amusing element of creating for me, I aspire to be a screenwriter for my own TV and film productions, however, I had a constant feeling of an ungoverned order within my writing. Despite how difficult it is for me, I never stopped writing, in fact, as required, I took numerous English classes and I attempt to take elements of my teachings outside of the classroom with me, so I can increase the quality of my work. During this fall semester, the textbook that was used for this class: (From Inquiry to Academic Writing), allowed me to put basic elements of writing into perspective and helped me me think critically about various literary works and other forms of creation beyond literature. …show more content…
I can only see the big picture if the details and small aspects are strictly established and I know them like the back of my hand. In Unit 2, I was detailed oriented so the audience of my paper can see the descriptions through my eyes. When writing the paper, I worked in order for the audience to understand the content easily. While details can be helpful and give a paper more depth, if it doesn`t have order then the details might as well be nonexistent. The one aspect I constantly have difficulty with is order and organization within the work. I don't always have my thoughts in order when I write, strictly due to the fact, when I write, I do tend to rush mainly because, I feel like establishing the details is important and should be emphasized more than any other elements of efficient writing. Furthermore, I made revisions to Unit 3. In Unit 3, the audience is changed, and the race/ethnicity of the characters. I made these revisions because I can better relate to that audience, in addition, I wanted to give more insight to the audience on the superheroes character, which is absent from the original work of Unit 3. Furthermore, I will revise Unit 1, providing more in depth explanations and I try to relate my arguments to my thesis, which was also absent in the original work of Unit

Since the beginning of my first year at school I have been learning to read and write. Throughout these years I have had a lot of experiences with reading and writing. All through high school we would write responses and essays over books we read. Once I entered college everything changed; I began to learn about writers and people who were known because of their great works of literature. In college, you are held to a higher standard and responsibility than you are in high school; this challenge has encouraged me to work hard and because of this I have become better at writing.…

During this semester of English W131, I have experienced both accomplishments and setbacks while learning how to improve my writing skills. Throughout the course, I have learned that writing is not only about how much information is in the paper, but also about how well the writer’s thoughts are expressed throughout the text. Practicing many different styles of writing as I did in the class has helped me tremendously with my delivery in my writing. I believe that this course was one to prepare us for future writing courses with professors we will encounter who will give us feedback that may puzzle us because it will require more work and more thinking. Although I have had difficulty in the class, I do believe that I have learned from my mistakes and that I am finishing the course with stronger writing skills that will help me though the rest of my college career and life.…

I am disorganized by nature. I have come to learn that the only way I can work efficiently is with rigid structure, but that rigid structure does not translate into the work itself. Crafting a well-organized text tends to be difficult for me and is one of the things I have struggled with most in English classes. Because I possessed this self-knowledge, I knew it was something to focus on, especially in final drafts. In the past, I was often told that my writing was convoluted, and while I usually did not see a problem with that, eventually it became clear that the word “convoluted” was not uttered in praise of my ability to craft extensive, rolling sentences overflowing with complex ideas, but rather a complaint of my inability to organize…

I first began to implement the idea of writing a shitty first draft in my research review article. Although I had edit this assignment multiple times, I received it back with recommendation for further revisions. For me, this emphasized that revision is a continuous process, and my writing can always improve if I take time to look at it with a fresh pair of eyes. I believe that I have accomplished one of the course goals, which is understanding the stages that would result in the production of competent, professional writing. As this semester comes to an end, I continue to utilize the writing process of creating a first draft that would need several revision in order to produce a quality end…

Written language is a trait known to be only possessed by mankind. Although other species may have audible forms of communication, man is able to record and document his thoughts, feelings, or events that have unfolded in a way that can be viewed multiple times without him having to use his voice over and over. Literacy is a skill that adults in the United States are expected to have; but the level of your literacy says a lot about you and can have a tremendous impact on what career you end up in. For this reason, this college English class is a requirement for all those seeking a degree. During the piece we were tasked to dissect and connect three different texts and how they are all able to tie into a much greater picture. But unfortunately I only barely grasped the text as I had rushed through understanding the readings and had only jumped into the context of the pieces. This lack of time and inability to properly dissect the texts caused my writing to be disjointed and messy. It felt unclear and all over the place as it was difficult for me to see that I needed to better organize my thoughts throughout the piece and not just paragraph to paragraph. For example making sure that each text is connected to the next and isn 't just a summary of each in a different paragraph.…

I had never taken a course that involved writing a paper and then presenting a speech on it to the class. It was either one or the other, not both.
