“Tuck and roll” that’s what they say when jumping off or out of a moving vehicle but that didn’t work for me. I was about five years old, I was visiting my grandparents that I hadn’t seen in a while. I was riding with my dad on a four wheeler and I was having fun until I felt the four wheeler jump, and then I turned around to see my dad jumping off. That was when I got scared. I tried to drive it, but with my family, chasing and yelling for me to jump off it was hard to do.…

    1. For some doing wrong is a sense of pleasure, rather than doing the right thing. Some people find life better to do others wrong rather than being a victim of someone who has done them wrong. Glucson makes things clear when he states that “those who practice justice do so involuntarily and because they have not the power to be unjust will best appear if we imagine something of this kind”. In other words, to my understanding he is making it clear that those who practice justice have come to an agreement for those who do things justice vs others who do wrong-doings.…

The appeal to nature and casual fallacies appear in conversations and in many forms of writing on a daily basis. Robert Todd Carroll has written two pieces, Becoming a Critical Thinker and Skeptics Dictionary, which explain what the two ideas are. In short, the appeal to nature is a claim that all things that are natural are good and all things unnatural are bad. A casual fallacy is a belief that because one thing happens something else occurs as a result. These two ideas are present in three different articles, Natural Foodie: Making the vegan switch proved to be a win-win-win, The Bad Seed: The Health Risks of Genetically Modified Corn, and Moms to EPA: Recall Monsanto’s Roundup.…

I wrote an article on this before but it’s so important to me I need to speak up about it again. The same article managed to make its way back on my Facebook feed and I am seriously worried people are buying into this stigma. It comes from such an ignorant place that I am honestly scared for society and can only hope most of you use the power of critical thinking. Here is the article that has been floating around the internet and in my opinion is contributing to the stigma surrounding mental illness:…

To me critical thinking is thinking outside the box, weighing out different options and consequences, and then choosing the best option. I do believe that I have found my purpose. After many years of doing things my way, to no avail, I sought a better way to live my life. I thought critically about my life, and the direction it was taking, and I knew a change was needed. After gathering the facts, thinking upon those facts, and seeing the potiential outcome, I gave my life to Christ.…
