I already knew that I wanted to become a better writer in general. Besides that, I wanted to gain an understanding of how to be grammatically and punctually correct. Another goal I wanted to accomplish is being able to articulate an essay in a shorter process than before. Even though I knew that this was a lot to accomplish in just one semester I knew it could be done. I now feel that I have accomplished most of my goals. I believe this because I have gained a new understanding about writing. I’ve learned that writing doesn 't have to be strict. I also learned that the way most people speak isn 't always correct and it was previously reflected in my writing before this course. For example, referring to a person as “that” isn’t correct because that refers to a thing. This is evident in my writing because I have gradually used less “slang” in my writing.
During this semester a writing piece that I struggled with the most would have to be the compare and contrast essay. I feel that this essay was difficult for me because it is difficult to write a paper that isn 't all in your opinion. In a compare and contrast essay your paper shouldn 't be basis it should show both sides of the situation. To overcome this instead of just thinking about my views and opinions at first, I gathered information from both sides of the situation. A problem that occurred was having no transportation due to the fact that my mother has gotten a job that was further out. When starting the semester I didn 't anticipate not having transportation. To solve this I purchased a used vehicle with the help of my brother. I feel like this dealt with the situation because I feel that my education was important enough for me to take the chance to buy a car. Another challenge that was faced during this semester was procrastination. I knew I had to overcome this because you cannot always do things at the last minute and expect to get a good outcome. I dealt with this by creating a schedule best suited my day-to-day activities why I can work in days that I need to commit to assignments so they can be turned in on
