Tyson is a very decorated scientist in the fields of astrophysics, physical cosmology, and astronomy. He is a spiritual individual, but not in the traditional sense of the word. Instead, he offers his own definition: “For me, when I say spiritual, I’m referring to a feeling you would have that connects you to the universe in a way that it may defy simple vocabulary.” Some of his works based on existentialism are Death by Black Hole, a book about space and putting humanking in the perspective of the universe, Welcome to the Universe, a book on astrophysics, and his show, “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey”. Some of his quotes are also featured in the single, “Exist”, by the popular metal band, Avenged Sevenfold. In his show, he explains the history of the universe and how it related to humankind, such as the evolution of species or the formation of Earth fourteen billion years ago. Tyson has received numerous awards in the fields of science, some of which are the NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal awarded to him in 2004, the Public Welfare Medal for the application of science for the public welfare in 2015, as well as the Hubbard Medal awarded to him for distinction in discovery and research in 2017. Early in life, I was constantly thinking rather than speaking. It has always been the preferred alternative to speaking verbally, because I feel at home with myself. I began speaking after 24 months of life, and as a child I spoke often, as children do but my tendency to be reserved really started to show itself around the beginning of grade school. I was always nervous to speak in school to new people and was constantly asked “Why are you so quiet?”. I couldn’t answer that question until around high school, where I started to understand myself more as a person. It was at this point of time where I developed an interest in psychology and how it applies to me. My beliefs, values, and feelings also started to fully blossom into what I am today, a very scrupulous, principled, and in control of my own feelings kind of person. Still to this day I am a very quiet person, only speaking when necessary. This also comes from the debater in me, I listen carefully and fully before giving input of any kind. Being an intrapersonal savant, I know everything about myself and my
