Hard Work And Self Motivation

Improved Essays
I, Maci Layne Morris, stand at a whoppering height of five feet five and a half inches, with blonde hair, and hazel eyes. I like physical labor and being pushed to my limits, but I also appreciate a good challenge in the classroom as well. I have always been a hard worker, for example during volleyball I always give it my all, cut back on the complaining, and just suck it up no matter how much it may pain me physically. I also work hard in the classroom and always try my best on my work and get the assignments turned in on time. Personally I would say I am not 100 percent motivated, but I do have fitting amount of motivation. Certain days I feel more motivated to succeed and be the best I can be and other days I can barely get out of bed. Visual learning and hands on learning are the quickest ways for me to pick on what the teacher is trying to get across. Isolation helps keep me from distractions like watching tv or talking to a member of my family when I should be doing my work. Another important factor in me studying is how comfortable I am. Most often I will sit down on my bed with all my homework beside me and I will work through one class at a time. It is not uncommon for me to get frustrated in my work and want to give up, but I also manage to get things

Honestly, I am not a very motivated person. I tend to try hard in school for the sole purpose of receiving an A. I never had thought of learning as an activity, but rather a priority. A priority that exists once again, for the purpose of getting an A. In my head, if I received an A, I would feel secure and my life would be able to move along smoothly. Receive a B, and my whole world would stop. Sadly, it seemed almost impossible for me to receive even close to a B when it came to writing.…

The targeted behavior I have chosen to do is my motivation to study. I have chosen this behavior because I often have no motivation to study, which is why I usually end up studying later at night and then I don’t finish until early morning. Therefore, with the results of the past eight days and the data I collected of my studying; I have found some of the same ineffective but also some effective ways to motivate myself to study.…
