Essay On Passion For Medical Science

Passionately Curious Curiosity is the lust of the mind. Have you ever felt that adrenaline rush through your body increasing the mind’s interest of a topic you were freshly introduced to? I feel that passion over the topic of the human body and the medical world and I become determined to learn more. I am interested in the foreign, universal language of medical terminology and of the hands-on skills of assisting a doctor. I strongly feel the desire to gain the knowledge and skills to become part of their world. I vaguely remember sitting at my desk wondering what led me to the Health Sciences and Technology class. I know my two older sisters are part of the medical field; one is a Dental Assistant and the other a Medical Assistant. However, my sisters’ interest in the medical field didn’t seem to affect me. Health Sciences just sounded like a good class. Besides, all the other freshman electives in high school didn’t catch my attention. I had the great opportunity to wear scrubs and to do clinical rotations. I learned about each career professions within that hospital. I experienced the feelings of sympathy, empathy, and warmth. Once, I was given the task to pass out breakfast trays and to help the patients if they needed their cereal bowl opened or a banana to be peeled. Seeing how helpless patients were made me feel eager to assist them. It wasn’t easy at first. I am a shy and quiet person; to step out of my comfort zone is an adrenaline rush. I became confident in myself. I decided the medical field is the path for me to take.
