In Fosbinder’s study (1994), the model of communication in nursing include four interpersonal process which are translating, getting to know, establishing trust and going the extra mile. As our mentees are primary school student, they may not have much abilities or skills comparing to us. Therefore, we may have encount difficultly in decoding their message. So, we have to show our empathy to them which we put ourselves in the client’s place (Riley ,2014, p. 126). We have to be firendly and patience. After we have more meeting with the students, we establish trust with each other. And even we are going the extra mile that the relationship between mentors and mentees become friendship. In addition, the effective use of communication technologies help us a lot in doing the project. For example, we use a mobile application, “Whatspp” as the main media to exchange message. This method work very well that we can have discussion anytime in anywhere which make the communication more effective. As stated by Wani et al. (2013), Whatsapp can eliminate the redundant steps of vertical reporting system to have a quick communication amongst the member.
