My Name Research Paper

My parents didn’t plan on naming me Amari Navaeh. They had picked a few names and couldn’t decide from them. They had thought of Makayla, Mackenna, or Mackenzie. Then, my parents realized they didn’t like those names and had settled on the name Chase. They had thought for sure that Chase was going to be my name, but in the end, they decided against it. Then, they moved onto middle names. They heard the name, Nevaeh, which is “heaven” spelled backwards, from a close friend and fell in love with it. My parents wanted an unique name, so they added their own twist to it. They came up with the name, Navaeh. Amari, came later on, when my parents found a city in eastern Syria named Mari. They added an “a” to the beginning and came up with Amari. For my parents, choosing my name was a well-considered journey. They wanted something original, strong, unique, and meaningful. In the end, they chose a name that suits me well. My name, Amari Navaeh Adams, represents strength, beauty, …show more content…
At first, I didn’t know if I liked my name or not. I knew three people with that name and I wanted to be different and wanted to stand out. Then, when I started thinking and dissecting it, I realized not many people have this name and it is different and unique. For my parents picking my name was a well-considered journey. They wanted a name that is not common because no two people are the same and, others will remember different and unique names. Even though my parents did not name me after anyone, they named me after a city in Syria called Mari. I am glad they did this because I want my own name and not one that directly came from someone else. I have many nicknames, but the main ones are “honey bunny” and “pumpkin.” Those are names that my immediate family members call me. My name is often mispronounced when first read. Many people pronounce it as “am-er-ee”instead of “uh-mar-ee”. I agree it is harder to pronounce than my middle

My name, Jenna Lee Wood, is a traditional Southern double name that comes from my mother's side of the family. After a brief interview with my mom, I learned that my first name comes from the 1980's soap opera, "Dallas". My parents loved the name Jenna from the start and knew that if I was a girl, I would definitely be named Jenna. The real struggle came with the middle name, because I was the first girl of my generation of the Wood's; everyone felt that I absolutely had to be named after the Wood side considering it was an abomination that my first name did not automatically come from said side. The only 21st century name was Katherine, so my name would have been Jenna Katherine-…

I didn’t like her because she was actually really pretty. She had a large nose but for the most part, her full lips and burnt orange colored eyes made me overly jealous; made me feel insecure. She wasn’t so attractive to the point that it made her unapproachable but her looks just made you wonder what she was doing in a place like this.…
