My Literacy History
A cool morning, the lay of the land bursting with colors. Red and orange, leaves covering the ground, the sound of a crunchy leaf beneath my feet. Autumn my favorite time of the year, right before the bitter cold comes that makes you want to curl up in a blanket with a cup of coffee and read a book. That is what most people think about when they want to read a book, they want to have a Hallmark movie moment, but that is not what it’s like for me. Most people read because they enjoy it, or because they have nothing better to do. In the day in age where students in high school are expected to be independent, support themselves as much as possible. It’s hard to find time in their busy schedule to just sit down and read a book. I don’t have as much time in my busy schedule to write as much as I use to but when I get the chance. I take every aspect of what I’m thinking and feeling, while conveying it to the audiences that may intern one day read it. I try my hardest to put everything I have into my writing to get whatever message I have across to my reader in hopes they will understand and comprehend. In the form of language arts writing has to be my strongest suit. While holding a bigger place in my heart than reading. As a kid I loved to look outside during the holiday seasons watching all the different aspects of life change from summer to fall, and then you’d wake up to the first frost which is always my favorite part of the year cause in more times than not where you have frost, you have snow to follow not long after. During all this change I would write poems and short stories about them and even draw and paint physical images of what I was seeing through my own eyes in hopes that I would get someone to see the beauty of the holidays.
