Due to his frail body, he was in the hospital constantly. In those times that I spent at the hospital, I was able tosee the many duties that a doctor must do: they helped my Grandpa by fixing him. Those visits to the hospital really affected my life and decision of what I wanted to be. It was hard to see my Grandpa in pain and I was not able to physically help him. So, I realized that I wanted to do something in the medical field and specifically help people to have a healthier life and to fix them. I integrated my love for kids and the idea of being a doctor; therefore, I desired to become a Pediatrician. To become a Pediatrician there are certain education required.
Indeed, to become a Pediatrician one must go through multiple years of school. The process of becoming a Pediatrician begins in high school. There are specific classes that one should take in high school, to be prepared for college. Those classes are biology, chemistry, physics, algebra, geometry, and if possible calculus. The occupation of being a Pediatrician is under the big category of Physicians and Surgeons. Most specific jobs under the category has the duties of helping patients take care of their health, looking at a patient’s medical history, and more. Doctors in general have the basic tasks of helping a patient be able to live a healthy life and give check-ups. Specifically, a General Pediatrician has additional tasks that they must do. General Pediatricians work with children from birth to around the age of 21. The duties of a Pediatrician is they provide medical care for newborns, young children, teens, and young adults. They analyze the medical history of the children and give them almost annual tests that assess one’s growth and development, to see if they are growing in a healthy way. However, if the younger people have a problem such as an illness, disease, or other issues, Pediatricians would diagnose the issue and treat them. Normally, Pediatricians would not do any surgical work; however, there are Pediatricians who specialize in pediatric surgery. Basically, they are like doctors that one would see in big hospitals like Johns Hopkins Hospital. But they specifically care for young adults and children by guiding them to a healthy life.
