My Fishing Experience-Personal Narrative

Fishing was something that used to not interest me, I am not a huge outdoorsman. I used to love it when I was a kid but then it tailed off and I didn’t find it as exciting. Recently I have started to find a love and passion for fishing and for one reason. One memory sticks out in my mind from when I used to fish as a young buck. My arms are burning from holding my pole for what seems like an eternity. The chilly breeze hit my face, and it sent a chill down my spine. It was the perfect day for some fishing off of the dock. The warm, fuzzy sun warmed my back as I sat on the dock in my ancient, white rickety chair that only my 6-year old self could fit in. The breeze provided the essential walleye chop for me and my father to catch some big …show more content…
My teeny Spongebob pole sat still as a rock in my hands as I stared out at the water, looking at my blaze orange slip bobber. I had been waiting and waiting, all day long, for that bobber to disappear under the water. I set my pole on the dock to take a break and stretch. I was abruptly interrupted by my dad who screamed at me. He shrieked at me to tell me my bobber had gone under the water. I swiftly turned around to grab the pole which was resting on the edge of the dock. I was in straight shock. I was so excited that after I pulled my pole up to start reeling, it flew out of my hands and right into the water. Luckily my dad was tuned in and watching me, so he sprung out of his seat and snagged my pole for me. He handed me the pole again, and I started to reel as fast as I could. My heart was beating out of my chest. I couldn’t believe that I was going to catch a fish. I tried reeling in, but for some reason the fish wouldn’t come in. It felt like what I was trying to reel in was cemented to the lake bottom. I was jerked forward by the pull of the fish. I almost fell into the lake the fish pulled me so hard. Luckily again, my dad was there to save me from

During the summer of 2015, my older brother Colin, took me on an incredible trip spearfishing off the coast of Florida. I’ve never been a fan of just throwing a line in the water and waiting; it has always been too passive of an activity for me to completely enjoy. Finally, I would be able to get into the water and bring the fight to the fish. The first thing we needed to get was a fishing license from the State of Florida’s department of Fish and Game. We were able to easily download two of the Saltwater/Freshwater Fishing Combo licenses on our phones for a mere thirty-two dollars each.…
